John Knox was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 4, 1952 where he studied classical piano from Julliard trained teachers. He was awarded first place at the Carnegie Awards Festival at Carnegie-Mellon University in 1969 when he was a senior at Rochester High School. He has sung and accompanied choirs all of his academic life and studied music education, composition, and choir directing at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
John received his Masters in Education Degree at the University of Phoenix and went on to pursue teaching music and directing choirs in the Phoenix area since 1980. From 1996 -2006, he was employed at St Patrick Catholic Church in Scottsdale, Arizona where he continued to develop his sacred music and liturgical training. John is currently the Pastoral Music Director at St Anthony Catholic Church in Lakeland, Florida since 2006, and is currently on the board representing the music directors of the western deanery of the Diocese of Orlando.
